Special Awards to be presented at Speedbowl Banquet

WATERFORD — There will be plenty of drama attached to this years “Stars of the Speedbowl” New London-Waterford Speedbowl 2018 Awards Banquet scheduled for Feb. 9th at the Mystic Marriott.
Special awards in each of the seven Speedbowl divisions will be presented on banquet night —Rookie of the Year, Pit Crew of the Year, Sportsman of the Year and Most Improved Driver. The results will be kept secret until banquet night, adding to the excitement.
“The special awards are a big part of the banquet,” Speedbowl General Manager Mike Serluca said. “It gives us an opportunity to honor many deserving drivers and race teams.”
The special awards have always been a highlight of the festivities.
“The voting was very close in many categories,” Serluca said. “But we think we have a great group of winners.”
Presentations will be made in the SK Modifieds, SK Lite Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsmen, Mini Stocks, Legends and Trucks.

Tickets are priced at $60. A cocktail reception takes place at 5:45 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m.
