John Curry was a man who would give you the shirt off of his back at a moments notice. He was a dedicated father and a father figure to many more. You always knew where you stood with John, as he was a man of honesty and integrity. He pulled no punches, he was gritty, he was old school, and he was simply the epitome of cool. John spent countless hours working on Mini Stocks he owned and had drivers field at The Speedbowl over many years. He prepared cars at his home, he made them better at the track, but most important, he would help any competitor in need. From the new guys, to his fiercest rivals, John judged nobody and was always eager to help.
When the drivers strap in to their Mini Stocks on Saturday, they’re not racing for a trophy or a check, they’re racing to earn the victory of a race that symbolizes and honors one of the true “Bowl Guys”. The Inaugural John Curry Memorial is the perfect tribute to a great guy and honors an incredible human being.
