350 SMAC SUPERMODIFIED SERIES OPENS 2024 SEASON THIS SATURDAY AT THE NEW LONDON-WATERFORD SPEEDBOWL

BOSTON, MA (May 13, 2024) – The thrill of 350 Supermodified racing is roaring back to Connecticut’s iconic New London-Waterford Speedbowl as 350 SMAC readies for the season opening ‘Battle at the Bowl’ scheduled for this Saturday, May 18th.

Entering its fourth consecutive season at the historic Speedbowl, anticipation is high among SMAC drivers and teams for another night of intense racing action.

“We’re ecstatic to bring the excitement of 350 SMAC back to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl,” said SMAC’s John Burke. “Waterford has become a very important stop on our tour and we’re thrilled to kick off the season here once again.”

Memories of the opening showdown in July 2021 still linger, when big block Supermodified veteran Dave Sanborn clinched his first SMAC victory, fending off Jeffrey Battle and Bobby Timmons III.

Scott Watts dominated the track in 2022, clinching victory in both SMAC ‘Legends Series’ events at the 3/8th’s mile circuit, besting Sparky Macgyver and Mike Keddy in May, and later outdueling Timmons and Kenny White in September.

The 2023 season saw defending series champion Dave Helliwell deliver a pair of masterclass performances in the Muldoon 50, sweeping both the Spring and Fall shows at Waterford to clinch the title.

As 350 SMAC gears up for an action-packed seventh season in 2024, over 20 drivers are geared up for the full schedule, commencing with the action at Waterford on Saturday.
