FLANNERY SAILS TO THIRD SK MODIFIED® VICTORY; LONG SCORES FIRST CAREER TRUCK WIN
WATERFORD – The SK Modified® feature event got off to a rocky start when polesitter Rob Janovic Jr and defending champion Todd Owen 
got hooked together taking the initial green flag. The contact stacked up the field, ultimately taking points contender Timmy Jordan out of the race. Adam Gada took the next green flag from the pole position but couldn’t beat Anthony Flannery around turns 1 and 2, giving Flannery control from lap 1. He would go on to lead every lap over the caution-free 35 lap span with Gada in his trail. Andrew Molleur and Eric Berndt had good points days finishing third and fourth, and Owen and Janovic rebounded to finish fifth and sixth.
Tyler Barry got the jump off the line to clear John Brunelle to lead the SK Light race in the early stages. Brunelle now engaged in a battle for second with John O’Sullivan III. Brunelle lost control of his car but was able to save it, clearing the path for Zack Sangermano to battle it out with O’Sullivan. With nowhere to go, Nickolas Hovey carefully worked his way by both drivers and made quick work around the outside of Barry to take the lead with just 10 laps to go. Hovey left the field in his dust to win his fifth race of the season, with Evan Bourgeois now in the mix. Barry was able to hold off the duel between Sangermano and Bourgeois with Sangermano ultimately rounding out the podium.
Shawn Gaedeke led the Street Stocks to green with Aaron Plemons engaging in some super-
speedway style tandem drafting on lap 1. Gaedeke was able to hold the lead but it didn’t take long for Plemons to get a nose underneath him and take over the top spot. But almost as quickly, Norm Root III did the same to Plemons. After Root cleared for the lead, Plemons attempted a cross-over move but couldn’t capitalize on it. He found himself engaged in a battle for second with Al Stone III until Ed Gertsch Jr entered the mix. Gertsch encountered mechanical issues and worked to the infield creating a gap between the podium contenders. Root went on to win his fifth of the season with Plemons and Stone rounding out the podium.
Rookie Tyler Dickey took the green flag in a huge jump on Shawn Passero. Dickey led the first three circuits until the caution flew, setting him up against another rookie of Austin Long. This time around, Long cleared for the lead taking Charles Beal by with him. Brad Strickland was all over Beal and Tyler Chapman had to recover from the restart, quickly entering the fray. Long set himself up with a safe lead while Chapman began working on Beal to sort out the rest of the podium. The rookie who had shown speed from the get-go was able to capture his first career win the division.
The annual Legend Car Fall Classic kicked off the night in a 40 lap affair with Wade Oemcke
leading from the drop of the green flag with Riley Paul in his mirror. A heavy bump draft from Paul that would eventually lead to Oemcke’s rear bumper getting dislodged and sending him to the infield. PJ Evans, Kyle Caissie, and Dylan Freeman worked their way past Paul while Evans and Caissie took control of the race from lap 6. The running order would remain unchanged until 8 laps to go when Caissie’s car had a parts failure, sending him to the pits for the remainder of the event. Evans got the jump off the line, and after a brief battle with Freeman he went on to score his fifth win of the season.
Glen Marion Jr. lapped the field twice to win the 50 lap Full Size Enduro.
