Farrington, Gray Celebrate On Rain Shortened Night
WATERFORD – On a long day plagued with weather issues for the Bemers Big Show at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, Dave Farrington proved to be the only feature winner of the day Saturday.
Farrington, of Jay, Me., won the 75-lap Granite State Pro Stock Series feature Saturday.
The Granite State Pro Stock Series event was the only one feature run of the 17 scheduled for the day. The day was plagued by rain delays from morning to evening.
Rain returned to the track just after the conclusion of the Granite State Pro Stock Series forcing the postponement of the remainder of the event.
Fourteen of the remaining 16 features that had been scheduled were postponed to Oct. 29. The Pro Four Modified and Seekonk Truck division features scheduled for Saturday will be run as part of the Sunday racing card at the Speedbowl.
After starting last in the 27-car field, Farrington inherited the lead with seven laps remaining after then leader DJ Shaw was forced to the pits with a tire issue. Shaw had led every lap up to that point.
Joe Squeglia of Derry, N.H. was second and Angelo Belsito of Auburn, Mass. was third.
Barry Gray of Belchertown, Mass. finished fourth and won the series championship.
