Bourgeois Pockets Big Money in SK Lights; Lineham Asserts Open Street Stock Dominance

WATERFORD – Mother Nature may have delayed the Haunted Hundred to a brisk Sunday afternoon, but the on-track product delivered.

This years edition of the Don Caddick Memorial was held with the SK Lights, going at it in a 50 lap non-points paying event. After a one lap drag race, Tyler Chapman was able to power by Sami Anderson to shoot out to the early race lead. Evan Bourgeois immediately put the pressure on Anderson but was unable to take the position when the first caution flew. Anderson kept the pressure on Chapman over the next couple of restarts, with Bourgeois, John O’Sullivan and Meg Fuller fighting hard for the third place position. With lapped traffic in the mix, Anderson made contact with the front straightaway wall, giving the front row to Chapman and Bourgeois. This set Bourgeois up to a battle of the ages with Chapman, eventually clearing him and sending Chapman into battle with Fuller. With 20 to go, Fuller was able to clear Chapman and send him into battle with O’Sullivan. The two would try to cross each other over with single digits on the board, with O’Sullivan nosing into the podium. With the race finishing clean and green, Fuller didn’t have the time to reel in Bourgeois giving our regular season point leader the big check courtesy of the Caddick Family.

Drivers from all across New England descended on the shoreline oval but it was still Speedbowl faithful leading the field to green. Aaron Plemons got the early advantage over a returning Norm Root Jr. Plemons kept control of the lead after several early restarts, even after a fierce side by side battle with Corey Fanning. As they strung out and Al Stone III settled into third, a long green flag run brought lapped traffic into play. Fanning would use that to his advantage clearing Plemons and getting Austin Erickson onto the podium temporarily. Plemons and Erickson would get together with 14 circuits left on the board, setting up Fanning against Ryan Lineham on the ensuing restart. The two have a lot of experience racing against each other and Lineham was able to briefly be in control, but then Jason Woodard threw his hat in the ring giving Fanning the lead once again. Woodard would get taken out of contention with 8 laps to go giving Scott Serydinski a shot at the podium. Lineham would launch with Fanning and Serydinski fighting for second as the laps clicked down. Lineham, who already has several wins at the Speedbowl, would score the win with Fanning eventually being able to clear Serydinski for second.

Northampton Pennsylvania’s Matt Hirschman won the Constantine Paving and Sealing Haunted Hundred for the Monaco Modified Tri Track Series.

           DJ Shaw took down the win and made up a deficit to earn the championship for the American-Canadian Tour Haunted Hundred.
