Corey Caddick has his first career X-Car championship locked down before taking the green flag tonight with his 5 wins in 10 races, so the battle rages on for second.
Chuck McDonald holds a 6 point advantage over Grant Spaulding going into tonight. Both have had to overcome mechanical issues throughout the season but they’re looking to finish out strong.
Ryan Magliano and rookie Andrew Culley are locked in a tight battle to round out the top five, separated by just 9 points.
It’ll be a stretch for Tim Burgess to crack the top 5 after a season plagued with mechanical woes, but he also has to look back as rookie Ethan Brewster is just 6 points behind him.
Rookie David Bernier is on the hot seat in the Bandoleros as we enter the final race. He’s got a 6 point lead over Allyha DeSomma. The two drivers have 6 combined wins and only missed the top 5 once. Bernier is currently on a 3-race win streak so it’ll be tough to take him down.
Connor Doyon captured the checkered flag once this season, and he’s got third place locked down heading into the night.
The battle to round out the top 5 is tight between Nolan Wright, Brody Wakefield, and Aiden Kimmer. Wright also has a win on the season, and holds an 11 point advantage over Wakefield. Kimmer who is on the outside looking in needs to make up 3 points on Wakefield to enter the top 5.
The Wednesday night Legend Cars have been putting on some heaters this season showcasing talent from all over. But in the end, it all boils down to Zachary Martinez, Riley Paul, and Jacob Burns.
Martinez leads Paul by just 8 points as both drivers seek their first Speedbowl championship. Both drivers have landed in victory lane and both drivers missed the top 10 only once. Burns is looking for his second championship but it’ll be an uphill battle being 19 points out. His 5 wins on the season has kept the gap close.
While Dylan Cote is mathematically in the mix, he would need to win the race and have all three of the aforementioned drivers stay home. His battle is locked down with rookie Milania Shilosky to close out the top 5 as the drivers are separated by only 3 points.
Defending Super X-Car champion Ben Pollard looks to make it back to back after tonight is said and done, but it won’t be easy. He currently leads Greg Moran Jr by just 7 points going into the event. Both drivers have yet to miss the top 10, and in the 10 races completed so far they hold half of the victories combined.
Sean Skinner has quietly been a consistent force this season, he sits in third place 20 points. Only missing the top 5 once, he looks to park it back in victory lane for the first time before the season is over.
Ray Reed picked up three wins this season in some thrillers, he sits 12 points behind Skinner, and 8 points ahead of Bill Rheaume who has really turned up the heat the past few weeks. John Nunes looks to surpass Rheaume and break into the top 5, being only 4 points behind.
There’s more battles sprinkled throughout the field though. John Nash currently sits in seventh, 5 points ahead of Mitch Bombard. Pipper Beal turned up the wick this season, and she’s 9 points behind Bombard. Caity DeSomma attempts to hang on to a top 10 being 12 points ahead of Ray Phillips. Rookie competitor Nick Fraulino is also 5 points behind Phillips.
